Maca (Lepidium meyenii) is a cruciferous plant whose root has among the highest protein content of all those that grow in the Andes. In addition, it is high in amino acid, vitamin and mineral content. Sometimes known as Peruvian “ginseng”, it is native to the Peruvian Andes (found between 3800 and 4500 m.a.s.l) and is of great nutritional, energetic and medicinal value.
Red Maca contains high amounts of antioxidants compared to the other types. It fights osteoporosis by repairing the osseous tissue and protecting the bone structure. Moreover, it considerably reduces inflammation of the prostate.
